Join in and be a TEXAS COMET sponsor...have your company name listed here, and on our team banner that hangs on our dugout at every game of every tournament! We play in approximately 15 tournaments per year (60-80 games !). Our active playing period is 9 months long. We particpiate in tournaments at a rate of about 2 per month. We regularly participate in tournaments in the Austin, Waco, Temple, Killeen, San Marcos, Dallas and Houston. Our tournaments usually last for two days, with some extending for four days in the Summer. Foot traffic at these tournaments is very heavy. Your business will receive a large amount of exposure as our team banner travels around the area. We can use monetary sponsorships as well as specific gear. Contact us and let's help each other!
Building and maintaining a quality fastpitch team is more expensive than it would seem at first glance. A single tournament fee alone typically costs $250-$350 with umpire fees. We provide multiple uniform combinations because we may play 4-5 games in a single day and then have to return for more games the next day. The players appreciate the ability to change shirts after a couple of sweaty games. We are required to carry team insurance. We have to pay for practice fields and the lights on those fields. Additionally there is catcher's gear, bats, balls etc. A sponsorship means more opportunity for this team and these gifted athletes. It provides these talented young ladies with the opportunity to participate in high-level, fastpitch softball. But a sponsorship goes beyond that. It provides an opportunity for these young ladies to develop, not only into talented athletes with scholarship opportunities, but into leaders and positive role models for the future. Your business will be viewed as a positive contributor to the community and you will receive positive mobile advertising sure to be noticed.
The management and coaching staff are accountable for the proper use of team funds as well as your investment. Any and all Funds received will be used only for purchasing equipment, uniforms, tournament fees, practice facility rentals (field & lights), travel expenses and team promotions. One hundred percent of the budget expenditures goes to the team.
The management and coaching staff are all volunteers. We devote our time and money to help guide these talented young ladies in their mental and physical development by teaching them teamwork and promoting a competitive spirit. We instruct the team in the importance of superior work ethics and in establishing athletic and scholastic goals. We do all of this in an atmosphere of good, wholesome fun.
